Liebster-ing!

I feel downbeat when I think about why I didn’t join the blog-sphere earlier than I did. In the developing years, it seems to have been so much more fun. So many more people that one could meet through their blogs and several interesting things to talk about and engage with, in this medium.
Recently, I was nominated for something called a Liebster Award by Anisha who writes Absolutely Not Sure. (I must be honest when I say, I have no idea what it is, but an award must be a good thing, no?)
The activity involved is to put down ten random facts about yourself, nominate eleven bloggers with less than 200 followers, answer questions put down by the blogger who tagged you and write up eleven other questions for them to answer. I’m going to leave the last bit out because I’m quite sure none of my blogger friends would find time to complete said task. Nevertheless, if anyone does feel inclined, they can answer the same questions as I have. So here goes.
Ten Random Facts About Me:

Q&A. Shoot?

1. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Turn off the alarm. Not my favourite part of the day!
2. How do you express your anger?
Intrinsically. I write sometimes. Other times I get some air.
3. If you had to live on a lonely island and take only one book with you, which one would that be?
LOTR, without a doubt. The fat version with all three books in them 🙂
4. An embarrassing moment/ fact about you?
Used to be an ace elocutionist in school. Oozed confidence and won first prize all the time. In grade 8, I went up to stage and blanked out.
Just imagine this:
” Namaskar.
Meri kavita ka naam hai xxx.
*Silence*
Dhanyawaad.”
I’ve never been more red in the face.
5. How much do you let your academic success/failure affect your life?
I’ve never really placed much emphasis on academics. Learning is what attracts me more. Not the grades that follow rote learning. I’ve always been an average student and quite satisfied with it.
6. Do you believe in first impressions?
I would like to say yes. But I think impressions change with time. I’ve experienced it personally.
7. What period of your life do you think was best?
College. Graduation in Pune. Post-graduation in Lavale. Such good and carefree times.
8. Do you live in present more or brood about past and fantasize about future more?
I hover in the middle. Take a dip into nostalgia once in a while, while dreaming about what lies beyond.
9. Your favourite cartoon and why?
A tough task to have to identify a ‘favourite’, but I loved ‘Captain Planet and the Planeteers’ as a child. The green streak developed quite early on, eh? 🙂
10. And finally Harry potter or Twilight?
There can be no comparison. Potter all the way!
