Day 12# Sorely Missed.

If someone were to ask me this, say – a year ago – I wouldn’t even have to blink before I replied – home.
But now the story has changed. I am home. Surrounded by all the comforts and reassurances that family brings.
However, the heart is never really satiated. So even though I have nothing to complain about, there are some things I miss dearly.
# Mobility. The ability to be able to go anywhere without having to ask anyone for help. I hate asking people to take me around, and am working on fixing this soonest.
# The delightful strawberry cheesecake at Sakley’s in Gurgaon. I will never forget thee.
# My friends. Chops. Bhardwaj. Sexla. MKP. Shoita. Aiyo. Not going into an emo phase where I will talk about how difficult it is to uproot myself from among these lovely people, and come to place where I don’t even have anyone who I can call, get a drink with or speak my mind with. I’ve already done that several times over. Sigh.
# My work. I miss doing something I was proud of, of the younger people who I had taught tricks of the trade (Dhairya and Vibhuti), Manish Miglani’s crazy laughter, Kuldeep’s rant over the server room being too cold, time-sheet reminder emails, the huge glass windows from where the Sun streamed in every morning, the raita which came with our free lunches, the company parties where even the most proper person went nuts, Shankar Bhaiya’s lemon tea and the general feeling of being in a place where everyone knew you and laughed at your jokes.
# The pre-monsoons. And the deluge that will soon follow.
Delhi-Gurgaon, I’m going to visit soon.
