Calcutta, always.

The last time I saw my grandmother was a year and a half ago. I’ve been feeling the guilt for a while now.

My baby nieces are growing by the day.
Mamata Banerjee has changed almost all the names of the metro stations to utter ridiculousness.
Winters are also the season for rasgullas made of jaggery.
The closest cousin is going through awful times and I feel terrible for not being able to be there for her.
So when I heard that a college mate was getting married in the home city, there was no way I was going to let it pass.
It was just over a week, and there was simply SO  much more that I wanted to do. But I’m glad I went, for whatever little time.
Fly Qatar Airways. They have phone charging slots in economy!

I met the elusive Mr. Atreya!

Spent two and half hours going to the airport and back, to meet Akshay for a hour. Worth every bit!

Went through my stack of SRK magazines 🙂

Posed with the bride-to-be

And with my baby neice Joey

Managed to squeeze in a second, with the couple

Goofed around with Ranjan and ‘Garden’ 😛

Met Shoi!

Went drinking Cosmopolitans with Milo on Republic Day 😀

Obviously.

Was among the first people to land up at Anisha’s wedding

Embarrassed everyone around me, with my puchka appetite

Tried to get some more pictures of the traditional Bengali wedding

Was stunned by how beautiful and calm she was 🙂

Momos, ahoy!

Indulged in over five hours of drinking on Park Street

Took several pictures like these 😀

Organised a night-in with my girl cousins

Received hugs and licks from Dennis

Gloated over these

Probably the cause of my upset stomach..

Got this amazing picture taken.
From L-R: Tham, Chordida, me and Bhua 🙂

Took sly pictures of Tham while she watched ‘Mahaaaabhaarat’

Got on a red-eye flight back to Muscat

Like I said, not much – but I feed oddly happy whenever I’m in Calcutta. And that’s what makes me want to keep going back.
