A Wedding & A Reunion

As the years are going by, most of us can find ourselves being absorbed in our lives leaving little time to reflect and lesser opportunities to do impulsive things.  But those days were the best, weren’t they? The living on a hilltop, the pathetic excuse of food that the mess served us, the small joys of a cancelled class, samosa-pav, the absolutely random conversations and the people – who kept you company when you cried, who brought you food from the city, who made sure you had a cake on your birthday, who sat you down and made you create your blog. Those are the people that I will remember…

One Day…

A toast. To the days when the roof was leaky. The midnight birthday revelries. To the horror that were exams. The peals of laughter at silly jokes at group study sessions. To the dreadful lack of nutrition. The small joys that chicken lollypops could bring. To missing family, but having friends around. The clouds floating through windows. Cumulonimbus!

It amazes me how changes in weather patterns affect my state of mind, and overwhelmingly, to say so! At the end of a day wherein my mood was a dripping graph, almost about to dive into the downbeat quadrants, there was sudden lightning, and there came the rains! We’re in that time of the year where one cannot really trust the meteorological department and nearly everyone around you is fending to a leaky nose; In other words, Mother Nature (Yes, am a feminist :p) is temperamental and hasn’t really made up her mind as to whether the winters have actually ended, or the fog and chilly winds still had some…

The day before, my road transporter friends from GATI came and picked up my suitcase, trunk, sack, shoe rack and 2 cartons which are labelled ‘Destination Gurgaon’ and another suitcase and Baba’s old wooden table, ‘Destination Kolkata’. Two crisp thousand rupee notes less from my wallet, my room and cupboard looking stripped, the happy thought of not having to lug a heavy bag to Muscat, and a deep sigh…

Insomnia of sorts

I was always the person to pride myself on the amount of undisturbed sleep I could get. Always poking fun at people who said,‘I just cannot get any sleep’, seems as if, recently I have been cursed by the entire lot! The last week has been the craziest, as mentioned in earlier posts. Staying up late into the morning, and sleeping more than halfway into the day. However, I have decided to change this cycle, knowing that this is rather short lived, and I would be a part of a rigorous grind soon, and should not get too used to this life of sleep filled luxury. So night before last,…
