Shopping, shakes and Santino’s!

Had the nicest day today!

Although Baba isn’t here and the house feels all empty and boring; but Ma, by herself can be super entertaining too!

Had Rajasthani stuffed kachoris for lunch, with neembu paani and London Dairy ‘Pralines and Creme’ to follow… slurrp!!!

Since it is Friday, and the neighbour wale uncle had chutti, they decided to go shopping, and Ma and me tagged along as well, with the money Baba had allocated to buy my new phone!! Yes, I am finally getting rid of the E50, irrespective of my love for it. Will now possess a Nokia E72 =D More about it in a later post (i.e. once it is here!)

On the way, I so regretted not taking my camera along – the sun and the clouds, as seen from the Qurum highway flyover was breathtaking – so much that I asked one of the girls sitting with me to lend me her mobile camera – and she replied ‘ Le lo, 8.1 megapixel hai, accha hi ayega’ =O Let me also just mention that Manaal, is only in class 8!! Ah, how the world changes…

Anyway, we went to the largestest hypermall in the Sultanate, by the name of Muscat City Centre which houses Carrefour, Ikea, Zara, Starbucks, Home Centre, Claire’s; actually every brand one can think of, and to add to it, a beyond brilliant food court with Mc Donalds, KFC, Santino’s, Chilis, Taco Bell, Baskin Robbins, Pizza Hut, outlets for philipino, mexican, arabic, continental and so so much more!! I was with women all around me wearing the most happening burkhas and some of them just had their eyes visible under the Abayas, and what hot eye makeup – reminded me of the optimum utilisation of available resources! Jo dikh raha hai, use toh hihglight karo!!

And I shopped!

Realised that clothes were so much more cheaper here. In India, a ‘W’ kurta would cost me at least Rs.800! And here everything I touched was in the price range of OMR 5-7, converted to INR 450-700! Went a little crazy, bout a lot of party wale kapde, and a few things for work too. Also, worth a mention is this super cute green floral jhola, which I fell in love with! No footwear or makeup yet, but there will be a time for those too =D

Then, ate pizza slices from Santino’s – the yummest place ever for pizzas – and best – they sell by the slice! Got one slice of Margherita, and packed another for dinner. In addition, a Mocha Frappe Shake from Starbucks!! The neighbour uncle (who, I must mention, has really nice hair!) decided that it was special that I was here, and we must all go out to dinner. So off we went to Mughlai Darbar in Al Khuwair. Not to forget to mention, they also have an awesome GMC four wheel drive, with seats like in the Innova, as in three rows of them! Super fun sitting in it!

After dinner, we got back home, and the most fun bit of trials of the clothes I bought began! As of now, they all look great, and I am in great hope of losing oodles of weight, once in Delhi and so I shall, and better clothes shall come my way.
