The Match

The IPL finals just happened tonight. What a match it was, the Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings!

Since, the Kolkata Knight Riders had gracefully bowed out of the tournament, quite a while ago – I had no idea which team I would be rooting for. So, I just sat on the couch, with corn cones and Pepsi, and decided to go with the flow.

An excellent innings by the ‘canary boys’, interrupted only by Navjot Singh Sidhu, in the extra innings, with his revoltingly green turban (which I quite liked), and his incessant nonsense! Then came on the home team, which had celebrity biggies for supporters – the Ambanis, Dino Morea, Rahul Bose, and maybe some others whom I missed. Great fun watching it, though – especially because we were watching TV as a family, something that has not happened in years. Ma tires of Baba’s Etv Bangla craze, and Baba cannot stand Ma’s ‘Na aana is des Laado’. So there. Mum’s extra commentary, and Baba and me exchanging smirks and glances, were a thing I have sorely missed. Nevertheless, great deserved win, Super Kings!

There have also been several achievements in the kitchen arena. I have successfully learnt to make:
a) Kaali Daal
b) Pasta Alfredo
c) Anda Bhurji
in addition to my existing culinary skills. Things one must do, in order to live alone.

In addition, I would take the opportunity of this forum to solemnly declare that my laptop is now dead. It’s motherboard has been ruined, beyond repair, and we, as a family have decided to put it down. So, tomorrow, I am scheduled to go buy a new one. Dell, I am hoping it will be.,

Destination: COMEX 2010, Oman.
