Bomb(s)-A(w)ay?

Mumbai became one of the 2011 destinations this month as I travelled for one of my most mundane yet heavy revenue earning clients.

I’ve never really warmed up to the city, yet I thought I should give it another chance. By the end of two nights, I was blessing the lord to be able to return to Gurgaon and my beautiful office. One might ask why – to be honest, I’ve never really identified the soul of a city to be synonymous with the bustling traffic, maddening crowds or even infrastructural marvels – its a little more than that. To me, the feeling comes from the people majorly influenced by the weather. Its probably just me, but I don’t share the enthusiasm of those who are in awe of Mumbai – I’m happier with my sleepy Kolkata and satisfied with my arid, pig-infested Gurgaon.

Nevertheless, highlights from the trip!

# Travelled with a colleague who was afraid of flying (What a treat to observe his antics!)

# Met Ridhima and Bhavya – ate sea fish and did not cringe!

# Paid my regards to the sea – took in a good whiff of the smell I so love and dearly miss

# Ogled at Shah Rukh Khan’s residence for the second time in my life, and hovered around hoping for a glimpse (Courtesy my married friends!)

# Overdosed on donuts at M.O.D

# Was put up in a semi luxury hotel (The shower area had a sliding door! Have I ever expressed my fondness for hotels!!!) To top it, I treated myself to continental breakfast menus

Vits Hotel | Andheri East

# Tripped on wires – bruised my knee – twisted my ankle and limped for the next three days

# Visited the Edelman Mumbai office – quite the mega structure but jut like the city, lacked the zing! Probably because I didn’t know anyone too well. It was good to meet Robin though 🙂

The Bandra-Worli Sealink – quite the cab ride

After an extremely eventful Intersolar activity, four hours of aircraft delay, Dabeli on board the Indigo flight, my throbbing ankle and I were welcomed by Delhi’s chilly breeze and very honestly, it had me beaming!
